Asian American "Jersey Shore" spinoff in the works?!?!?
happyhatts
Mark my words, I will pump a million and one fists if this thing actually comes into fabulously full fruition!
Apparently, a production company (Tyrese Gibson is rumored to be one of the co-producers) recently posted a Craiglist’s ad asking for the following:
looking for interesting, attractive, colorful Asian-Americans to cast in a reality show similar to JERSEY SHORE, REAL WORLD, THE HILLS, etc. We need attractive Asian-Americans with lively, strong, and unique personalities between the ages of 18 to 30 with equally interesting life stories and perspectives to share, especially individuals who know about and/or experienced the Koreatown life.
If this as-yet-unnamed thing ever sees the light of commercialized airtime, it will make history as the first ever Asian American reality-based show. After following the immensely infamous successes of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” I guess these producers are looking to cash in by riding on the bastardizing-a-cherished-culture-through-teenaged-punks wave. And what better way than to follow young AAs in dramaliscious K-town?
Oh, and non-Asians can apply as well, but being “obsessed with Asian culture or people” is unsurprising necessary requirement.
