Beverley Hills and Koreatown are getting MTV Reality Shows
After the raging success of those crazy Italians on Jersey Shore, MTV is seeking to cash in with a couple other ethnic groups: Iranian-Americans and Asians.
First, MTV is seeking cast members to appear on a new reality show that will focus on rich Persians living in Beverly Hills.
Here’s the press release:
Hollywood, CA (APRIL 7th 2010) Yes it’s true! From the team that brought you MTV’s phenomenon “Jersey Shore” it’s The Persian Version!
Doron Ofir Casting is seeking Los Angeles proud Persian-Americans who rule the Hollywood nightlife and own Beverly Hills.
“Its time to show the world that being Persian-American is a celebration of the American dream” says Doron Ofir Executive Casting Director.
So if you are at least 21 years old, appear younger than thirty and are outrageous, outspoken and a proud Persian-American, then Doron Ofir Casting and 495 Productions, the team who brought you Jersey Shore, are looking for you!

Secondly, there’s also going to be an Asian version of Jersey Shore that looks like it might take place in Koreatown:
“Looking for interesting, attractive, colorful Asian-Americans to cast in a reality show similar to ‘Jersey Shore,’ ‘Real World,’ ‘The Hills,’ etc. . .” the notice reads.
“We need attractive Asian-Americans with lively, strong and unique personalities between the ages of 18 to 30 with equally interesting life stories and perspectives to share, especially individuals who know about and/or experienced the Koreatown life.”

That’s right, Hollywood will not settle until it has covered every neighborhood in the LA area. You just wait til they start that show about thirty-something white guys that work in marketing and enjoy going to Irish pubs. I am ALL OVER THAT.
